Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What do you do to make sure your new homes are energy efficient?
A: Chisholm Creek Development is an Energy Star builder partner, creating energy efficient new homes that provide more value for the money. Energy Star labeled homes provide a complete range of features that will not only lower utility bills, but will offer year-round comfort and enhance the long-lasting value of your home.
Some of the features we use include:
- Clad windows with argon gas and low e glass
- High efficient heat pumps or geo-thermal systems.
- Blown cellulose insulation
- Energy efficient appliances
- Mold proof shingles
- Proper ventilation
- Caulking all exterior plates, holes, cracks, windows and doors to dramatically reduce air infiltration.
- House Wrap or Tech Shield
Q: What's the going square foot price of a new home?
A: If Chisholm Creek were a production builder that built the same old house everyday, we could answer that rather quickly. Unfortunately, not all homes are created equal. To really get accurate pricing we need a working set of plans with everything that goes into the home, lot information, area where home is to be built, etc. Then we could arrive at an accurate cost. That is why it is important to talk with you many times to understand your desires, wants, needs and dreams.
Q: What is the price range of your homes?
A: The price of a new home built by Chisholm Creek Development usually falls in the $200 - 500k range, depending on location, size, and optional features.
Q: I'm not sure if my current home will sell in time for us to start building a new home with Chisholm Creek. Do you take contingencies?
A: Yes, we understand that life doesn’t always hand us perfect timing. We are happy to discuss a contingency with you.
Q: As time passes, we may want to move into a bigger home. Are you aware of what choices we need to make now in order to improve our chances of selling our house later?
A: New homes constructed by Chisholm Creek Development are solidly built, made to last a lifetime and beyond. Furthermore, with David and Drew being so involved in the building and real estate community, we are very aware of not only current styles, but what future trends are likely. We are happy to advise you in your choices to help you ensure continued value.
